Vesuvius

Branch Foundries and furnaces
Exhibition METEC, Düsseldorf
Area 264 m²

The world leader in metal flow engineering wanted to present itself in expressive architecture with integrated high-tech media equipment.

MC² used a combination of archaic stand architecture elements and the most up-to-date media to create a powerful presentation for Vesuvius,  the highly complex casting processes and giant blast furnaces. Elements borrowed from foundry technology, for example the crucible-shaped ceiling element, were combined with LED floors, holographic displays and 3D mapping. The realistic surface of the model provided a hands-on experience of the world of blast furnace technology at this year’s METEC.

The source of all beauty lies in a certain harmony between the extremes.
